Cisnormativity: The same as heteronormativity, except for the assumption that everyone is cis-(identifying with their biological sex) unless otherwise stated. It’s a concept developed by social theorist Michael Warner in 1991, and refers to the heterosexual experience heteronormativity through cultural analysis, involves reading symbolic meaning and the examination of social practices in quasi-work environments.
